Bendigo Victoria - Garden Lover May 2007
We live in Bendigo in the heart of Central Victoria and we were heartbroken to see how stage four water restrictions imposed by the state government caused so much distress to our large garden.
The dilemma we faced was simple.
Do we just sit back and watch our beloved garden on which we had spent thousands of dollars just die, or, do we find an alternate water supply.
We are just so pleased that we made the decision to call in a water drilling contractor who found water just 40 metres underground.
Our water flow was 550 gallons per hour and the water reading was 4,400 ppm ( 2,500 sodium chloride ) with heavy clay soil.
We then contacted the South Australian based firm Hydrosmart who have been absolutely amazing with their advice and service since we installed the Hydrosmart unit and our garden and lawn area has now returned to the great condition it is today.
We have a very harsh weather climate here in country victoria and to make the ultimate decision to search for an alternate water supply and install a treatment process called Hydrosmart has been much cheaper than the cost of completely replacing our garden.
However, we have converted all our sprays to drippers so as not to spray the bore water on to foliage and we have discovered that our rose gardens have made a remarkable recovery.
It has been a really rewarding experience and we are proud of what we have been able to achieve in such a short time.
Whilst many drillers may sometimes be quick to point out that a certain water supply may have been too salty, we are just so glad that we took the next step and searched for a solution.
