Dear Paul,

Thank you for your follow-up re our experience with our Hydrosmart system.

We installed the system at the end of last season in an attempt to save our garden as at that stage our only source of garden water was our dam which by then was literally dry; we had to do something if we were to save 15 years of work in establishing our garden from what was previously a bare block.

Although we had drilled a bore two years previous we had not used the bore water as all reports advised that the water was unsuitable due to the very high solids content - 4500 mg/L. We investigated a de-salination plant and apart from the cost $25,000 no one could advise what the procedures were to dispose of the removed solids.

We installed the Hydrosmart system and began using the bore water pumping directly from the bore through the system- we have a reasonably extensive garden covering approx 3-4 acres which includes some 200 roses plus a small orchard. The installation wasn't straight forward as on advice that the treated water needed to be insulated from any electromagnetic influences meant that we had to re-pipe a large part of our irrigation system.

Most of the plants which were then still alive survived the drought; we lost a couple of roses and one stand of three camellias - all of the fruit trees survived.

Over the last winter we had some rain, the dam filled and additional tank storages (1x 7500 G + 1 x 6000 G) also filled.

This season we initially used some of the tank water then added about 1/3 bore water - we "shandy" then passes through the Hydrosmart to the irrigation system. Once the tank water was used we have then been pumping dam water and bore water into one of the tanks then passing this "shandy" through the Hydrosmart. We have a lawn tennis court which we have been using 100% treated bore water.

Hopefully we will receive some further rain during the next winter but at this stage our dam is still approx 50% and all of the garden is pretty good shape. Although we are not in a position to quantify before and after results we believe that the Hydrosmart system has been a good investment we will continue with its use. Attached are some photos of the Hydrosmart installation plus a couple of pics of our garden for your interest.

Once again thanks for your interest for following up your products' performance.
