Just a small note to let you know how well the Hydrosmart water conditioner is working on my grape vines. After the system upgrade to a double pass I have noticed several results. A release of calcium scale came from irrigation pipework and drippers, which has not reformed since having the system installed. I am also surprised at the scale which peeled off the side walls of the concrete dam and has not returned.

My salinity is around 1800 parts and once run through the Hydrosmart it reads 200 parts lower, the real improvement in the growth however indicates that something else must be going on to the salts than just lowering the reading.

It was also the case that I had not seen the bottom of my dam since filling it 12 years ago as the bore water has high iron levels and was an orange brown colour. Since putting the Hydrosmart unit on we have had high level water clarity in the dam and have been able to see the bottom clearly for some time now.

It seems that the water when passed through the unit becomes softer and feels almost like it has a slippery oil base substance.

The Hydrosmart also made a noticeable difference to the canopy size, and an increase in the sugar levels of the grapes. I am currently turning the unit off when the Baume hits 12.
