The benefits to Barramundi tanks:
1. Hydrosmart removed the need for dumping 1/3 of the water weekly as it took the load off the bio-filter by reducing the amounts of ammonium and nitrite which had been generated by the fish. This provided for an extensive saving in water over the period of the growth of the fish of around 7 months.

2. There was an improvement in the overall health and condition of the fish with more active, healthy fish.

3. A higher feed conversion rate was achieved which culminated in an increase of 3% in the growth rate and more even growth overall.

4. A lower mortality rate of 1% instead of the normal 10% has be achieved, a 900% improvement.

5. Hydrosmart kept the water cleaner, so cleaning the inner surfaces of the tanks to stop growths from forming was unnecessary, while providing a better environment for the fish.
